Heavenly Bliss
This couple of pictures explain it all:

My new speakers arrived this friday, shortly after I woke up from my never ending marathon to setup the furniture (wood?) I got at IKEA. I’ll tell you a little more about my IKEA-day (and house!) on another post.
I went to work and got back home… and immediatly set up the whole system - my personal stereo system. “Freakin’ holy whatever” - I thought - “I am back in business!!!”. Damn I missed this nice sounding muzak. There’s no way I will ever regret spending every dollar I have spent on this system. My roomate was actually very confused about me spending some money on a simple… stereo system… not even the whole shabang, like a super duper cool home theather stuff, 5 speakers plus a subwoofer. Nope, just two speakers - small ones!! - one amp and one cdplayer. He never admitted it to me before listening to music with it, but I knew he didn’t approve of it that much.
Now, he thinks differently. With a very low tone, almost whispering, he asked me: “How much did you end up spending on it?”. I answered what I normally always do those questions, “hmm…nevermind that, let’s just listen to the muzak.”. Because, my fellow readers, that’s what it is all about: Muzak. If you love music as much as I do, and you also think it’s priceless to come home late at night and put some muzak, money is somehow eclipsed in your worries. Just to be clear, I didn’t spend an obscene ammount of money and I eventually told him how much it was, because it was for a very good reason: He simply wanted to know how much do you need to spend to have a good sounding stereo. Sorry, you can’t get this at RadioShack, Target or with Sony, pioneer, etc systems. And yes, they can get to be more expensive.
When setting up my system at home, I always listened to Maria João - Undercovers:
Now, although I have that album with me in the states, I am listening a lot to Maria Rita’s Segundo album - absolutely fenomenal. There aren’t that many albuns that are simply great from start to finish. Actually, my gold standards are Dave Matthews Band’s Crash, Undercovers and Segundo as far as stellar quality from start to finish. It also helps to have some good audio engineering behind it. These albuns have great sound. Not “audiophile” grade perhaps, but really high quality. I’m sure I am missing lots more… pardon me.
Anyway, I just wanted to share with you my happyness in finally gettin’ settled as far as audio goes. Now, I need to find more music crazies like me to get them inside my house to do some serious listenings on weekends :>
